The NDZ Reduced Power Recoil (RPR) Guide Rod Kit provides fine-tuning and a decisive advantage for all Glock owners. Special features include a rigid stainless-steel guide rod body that improves lock up by completely removing "guide rod flex", and a hex screw removable tip that allows the user to choose various spring weights to calibrate with the ammo they are using. This kit includes a tunable guide rod, 2 ISMI recoil springs, and a Allen wrench to be able to assemble the guide rod and tune its performance. Note: Please make sure you are using the correct loads for the springs or you will have cycling issues.
Important: We recommend the use of Blue Loctite on the hex screw threads when switching out springs. This will provide a firm hold and still allow easy removal when necessary.
Glock Factory Recoil Spring Weights by Model:
- Glock Models: G17, G20, G21, G22, G24, G31, G34, G35, G37, G40, G41 - Factory Stock Spring weight is 17 lbs.
- Glock Models: G19, G19X, G23, G32, G38 - Factory Stock Spring weight is 18 lbs.
What Recoil Spring Weight do you Need?
- 11 - 13 lbs. Springs: Typically used for Competition Shooting, or when using a Recoil Compensator with Barrel. A lighter weight Recoil spring allows for a faster recoil time. This allows the shooter to stay on target longer and makes target re-acquisition, Faster and Easier.
- 16 lbs. Springs: For Reduced Power Ammunition Loads.
- 17 - 18 lbs. Springs: Factory Weight.
- 19 - 24 lbs. Springs: For Heavy Power Ammunition Loads +p or +p+.

Excellent Guide Rod Kit
I was timing a comped G17 and needed 13 and 15 # springs. After a couple of hundred rounds with various grain weights I determined the 13# spring running non-captured ran the best and 100% consistent regardless of load/gn weight. TTC C-Comp. Great comp for steel plate !

Less Spring More Success
I purchased this kit because I was having some annoying ejection/extraction issues on my g19 with a ported ZP upper and barrel. I noticed the slide wasn’t fully cycling and/or I was having some interesting stove pipes with an occasional neat double feed..…until I bought this set. Although I haven’t ran many rounds through it with the new spring, it was an instant noticeable difference, as I would have had an issue within my first magazine and/or 15-20 rounds. I didn’t notice much change in the recoil, however, it was purchased to have an overall better tuned gun, which appears to have been successful.

Works ok
I just recently picked up a reduced recoil spring for my P80 G19 with a Zev tech V2 pro compensator. I tried the 13 pound spring at the range yesterday, and the spring was so loose that the slide wasn't going forward enough to put the pistol into battery. Every time I cycled a shot, the pistol would get stuck out of battery. The 15 pound spring works much better, but still getting double feeds and malfunctions. Hope this is just the first 1000 rounds and not a consistent problem.
