Nice upgrade from the plastic guide rod
The purchase through NDZ was seamless and shipping was quick. As far as the steel guide rod, it is definitely ascetically pleasing. I can't speak to the performance of it yet, as I am still in the process of building a G34 using the Polymer80 PF940V2 frame. Installation instructions are fairly nonexistent. Upgrade for all gen 1-3 Glocks in my opinion. The plastic guide rod is fallible and a week point in the design. This fixed that and gives added value to your pistol. As the springs wear you simply pull the screw and swap them out. Or if your chasing performance then the ability to easily and really change recoil springs is a must and this allows you to do that and will last a lifetime !

NIce Upgrade from the "plastic" guide rod!
Once I finally got the rod installed, I was very pleased. The instructions are fairly nonexistent. There is a washer on the rod that must be installed on the base OPPOSITE the allen spring-retaining screw. I couldn't find a mention of this in the instructions. If the washer is installed just behind the screw, you will definitely wish you hadn't done it. Also, purchase some blue thread locker to apply to the screw threads before reassembly. There is no mention in the instructions either on how to remove the OEM spring that must be reused. Do yourself a favor and purchase the NDZ guide rod tool. It saves you a lot of time, and I don't see how you would do the job without it. I depressed the spring, and cut the plastic retainer with some good small diagonal wire cutters to remove it to install on the new guide rod.
