Compare Glock 17 grip plugs by generation, material, and backstrap configuration. A grip plug fills the open cavity at the bottom rear of the frame, behind the magazine opening. The selection includes polymer, aluminum, and brass designs, with finish choices and optional laser engraving on select NDZ products.

Match Your G17 Generation and Backstrap Setup

For supported Gen 1–3 G17 models, compare the polymer P1 with the NDZ AL1 aluminum grip plug. Gen 4–5 options have different fitment requirements: the P6 excludes OEM removable backstraps, while the NDZ Gen 4–5 aluminum listing requires a Backstrap Installed selection. Check the individual listing instead of choosing by appearance alone.

For G17 Gen 6, choose AL6 aluminum or BRS6 brass when no backstrap is installed. Choose AL9 aluminum or BRS9 brass when a backstrap is installed. The AL6 no-backstrap plug and AL9 with-backstrap plug are separate products. These model numbers describe the reviewed Gen 6 listings; do not apply them to earlier-generation plugs.
