Tac-Force TF-468LW Gentleman's Pakkawood Bolster Speedster Knife. The TF-468LW comes in as a more unique EDC, not for its relatively standard and reliable 3 inch 44 stainless steel black blade attached to the 4-inch stainless steel handle combined with its reinforced steel bolster, but even more so for its Light Brown Pakkawood cover on over half of this knife's handle. Pakkawood (also known as Staminawood, Colorwood, Dymondwood and compreg) is a combination of hard wood layers and resins fused together under intense heat and pressure. Multiple layers combined to create very unique grain finish plywood that is inert, stronger than normal wood, more moisture resistant and will not warp. It will last longer and overall look better, maintaining a long lasting natural high gloss finish, and each Pakkawood model is never quite the same as the next, with each layer providing a different layer of colors and grain patterns. When the knife is in the closed position, the blade is held in place by means of torsion springs; as the user applies manual pressure to the thumb stud to open the knife, mechanisms such as the torsion spring moves along a track in the liner and rapidly rotates the blade into the open and locked position.
